Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is a public adjuster?
A: A public adjuster is a person licensed by the state to represent the policyholder against his/her own insurance company. In other words a public adjuster does for you what your insurance adjuster does for his/her company, protects your best interests.

Q: What is the difference between Property Adjuster Associates and another public adjuster?
A: At Property adjuster Associates we go above and beyond what is expected. When we are hired we treat your property as if it were our own. This means the careful handling of every aspect of your claim. Nothing will go unchecked. We can ensure the best possible outcome. Take a look at our Portfolio to see what we have done for our past clients.

Q: How do I know what is covered by my policy?
A: With all of the confusing terminology regarding covered losses and exclusions it can be very tricky deciphering your policy. The answer to this question will be different for everyone depending on your policy and the circumstances surrounding the loss. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have in our hassle-free Questions Box.

Q: Why am I being offered less than half of what I paid for my personal belongings?
A: There are a few factors that come into play when deciding how much a personal item is worth. Though each situation may bring its own factors there are a few that are common to most. Most policies will depreciate your personal items due to their age. Some of this depreciation is usually recoverable. If you decide to actually replace the items that are damaged, you will be refunded another portion of the value. To find out how this will work in your situation contact us.

Q: The building inspector told my builder that we must comply with the latest building code, is this covered?
A: Most policies have coverage for code, though your adjuster most likely will not jump to tell you about this. This is one of the many areas Property Adjusters Associates can make the difference between a terrible experience and a satisfactory outcome. With our expertise in the analysis of your policy, we can insure nothing will be missed. Read our page on the Claims Process to see how we can help in this area as well as many others.

Q: My property was considered a total loss and I have been paid limits on my policy. I’ve been told I can still collect more on my policy, how is this so?
A: Due to the additional coverages built into most policies, it is often possible to collect additional sums of money even if you have reached the amount of your coverage listed. Give us a call to find out which coverages you may be eligible for under your policy.

Q: This is all sounding good and I’d like to learn more, however I am always a bit reluctant to contact a business because I don’t like speaking with a hard pressure salesperson. Is there an easier way to get a hold of Property.Adjuster Associates?
A: There are no hard pushed sales tactics here. At Property Adjuster Associates we believe in what we do and we know were genuinely helping people on a daily basis. We don’t sell our service to customers but rather explain what it is we can do and let you decide if you would like our help. With that being said, we understand anyone having reluctance to call, so we have created an easier way to contact us. Please feel free to ask us any questions you may have in our hassle-free Questions Box.
